Lightning ProductsWWLLN Data from the World Wide Lightning
Location Network has a global network of VLF (3-30 kHz) sensors
that detect impulsive signals from lightning discharges called
“sferics”.
GLM Data from the Geostationary Lightning Mapper is a
satellite-based single channel, near-infrared optical transient
detector. Unlike WWLLN, GLM is not global, and has a nominal
operating window between 52 degrees North and South latitude.
