I recommend downloading the following 2 videos so you can watch them several times. I use the VLC media player which allows slow and fast motion playback. I provide an embedded video so that one of these methods should work for you.
You can see in slow motion those turns we did Tuesday Sept. 27. Note the pace of their running and passing.
Very economical drill -- work on dribbling, moves, turns, passes. Try some of these at home! I love this drill! Back to top Return to Main Page |
This is the Spanish national U-21 team working on 1v1.
Note the defenders doing: 1. close down, 2. slow down, 3. show down, 4. shut down. See how they're sideways on, light on their toes, and are trying to force offense to one side. For offense, look at the pace, the fakes, and the determination. Back to top Return to Main Page |
Again, the Spanish national U-21 team working on 2v1.
We'll emphasize forcing the defender to commit before passing. Watch how these attackers do just that. Notice as always, the pace at which these players practice. To get faster and more fit, you must do intervals where you train at 80-90% of your top speed. Defender maintains his stance that he used in 1v1. Back to top Return to Main Page |
