David Warren
Software Engineer
You have landed on the home page of David Warren. I am a software
engineer in the department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University
of Washington. I am the author the world famous (ok not really)
alarm program. This is based on the set of
scripts put together by
Steve Malone
for the same purpose.
In addition I am one of the people working on
IVE
(a scientific visualization program based on
NCAR Graphics and NETCDF). Then in my spare time I co-manage a network of
Linux Clusters, Linux Workstations, PCs and MACS, work on
parallelizing weather models, ingesting real time data etc.
Other interresting projects I'm associated with are:
- The Live from Earth and Mars
("Grayskies", my name suggestion now only refers to the Earth side) project where we are taking NASA
weather and Space data and making it available for K-12 Science education.
- uwweather.xpi - A Firefox toolbar extension to display real time rooftop data from the UW ATG building and bertschi school
- uwweather-chrome.crx - A Chrome extension to display real time rooftop data from the UW ATG building and Bertschi school
- PNS (Pacific Northewest) Swimming
- PNS Officials (Yes you can become one too)
- OCA Swim team
- Queen Anne Swim club Masters Swimming
- The DECUS LIBRARY VMS CDROM (Digital Equipment Corp Computing User's Society - This is an age test)
